Question:

Why Don't Banks Keep A Copy Of Your Old Addresses Where Statements Have Been Sent To In The Past?

I am looking into getting my credit checked however I need to provide all the addresses I have lived at within the last 6 years. Not keeping a copy myself I contacted the bank assuming they would have this type of detail on the system but they told me they didn't. Is this true or just particular banks?

  1. They bank will have this information but you just have to talk to the proper person to get statements from that far back.  It will probab;y cost you some money too.  You shouldnt need this information anyway to check your credit.  Just provide what you know and you should be fine.

  2. Why would they keep outdated information?  Can you check your tax returns for the past 6 years for the addresses?

  3. As a bank they keep records for no longer than 7 years. Depending on the bank they should keep your previous address' as they will need this for their credit search details. The bank i work for keep your address' for the last 7 years and can tell you what date you changed your address. if you need more info contact me nick_luke2006@btinternet.com

    good luck.
