Why EU doesn't accept turkey as an EU member?

Most people I've talked to who oppose it are worried about Turkey's size and comparitively poor economy, which would make it the most powerful voting member of the EU by population while bringing in millions of immigrants looking for work.  

Personally, I support its membership, I think Turkey is the world's best example of a strong, secular democracy in the Islamic World and should be supported wholeheartedly by the West.  It has contributed immensely to NATO already and is far closer to the democracies of Europe than it is to the authoritarian theocracies of the Middle East.

I am sure they don´t accept Turkey due to politics question, but, I think the strongest cause is the religion. The Turkey is a muslin country and the EU are all christians countries.

As you can see the religions always were a disagreement point and continue on the same way.

Because turkey is a bird. it is not a country.

Because to thtis day they refuse to accept responsibility for the Armenian Genocide of of 1915.   Only Hitler recognized it... and copied it to incinerate hundreds of thousands of Jews.
