Why Georgian president is unconditionally trusted with everything he accuses Russia in?

It makes me extremely disappointed to hear western news. I do love georgian people and regret thay (and ossetian people) suffered because of stupidy and ambitions thier president. I just cannot understand why US and EU dont want to listen ALL particpated in the conflict sides with all their facts and figures of victims etc. I don`t understand why the press conference with Georgian president was fully shown on all the big news chnnales, while the interview with Putin was cropped and tailored in a very particular way to make people look at the situation from a particular angle? Western world never had any problems with gas supply, so why they are so scared of "dependancy" on Russia? It is MUTUAL dependance! Why do they need thire gas if noone will buy it? What makes most of westernes claim that Georgia has "transparent democracy" (todays TV news on CNN)? http://www.reuters.com/article/internetNews/idUSLJ36223120080819 -they cut access to Russian web-site, georgian president put in prison some members of his opposition, one of his "enemies" recently misteriously died in London from "heart attack" etc

Several hundred russian tanks don't just roll into a free and democratic country without extensive planning.  Putin is trying to reestablish the Soviet Union, but I don't think that the former members are going to willingly be raped and exploited by the russians once again.

It's not really about whether or not the West believes the Georgian President. The West needs this alliance and cannot afford to simply blow off what Russia is doing in Georgia. Even China is not on board with what Russia is doing. So belief or disbelief are suspended until strategic goals are met and then the West takes this leader aside and says "Quit being such a wiseguy, alright?" quietly.
