I was just sitting in my bedroom watching TV and then I Stood up I was fine for about 2mins and then I started getting really bad pains in my stomach - like a really bad, strong and painfull stitch all over my stomach, I found it hard to move or straighten my back - I had to sit on the floor bending forward because it was really painfull when I moved, I got really hot, I started sweating lots and then I started shaking. The pains went away after 10-15 mins but I was still sweating, I felt cold and I was still shaking. What could have caused this? Why did this happen all of a sudden. Does anybody have any idea? Many Thanks

  1. sounds like an intestinal spasm...that would cause that kind of pain, and the sweating probably from irritation of the vagus nerve which runs just behind the intestines.  What might have caused the intestinal spasm, I can't say.

  2. You don't say if you were eating when you were sitting down.... this type of pain and reaction can happen if the food you've just eaten hasn't travelled through your gut properly .... so when you stood up there was like a bit of a back up while it worked it's way through .... the feeling hot and breaking into a sweat is caused by your blood pressure temporarily rising quickly as a response to this .....the shaking would probably have been caused by a quick and rapid heartbeat also as a response to this .....

  3. Trapped wind

  4. Don't mean to scare you here but, you SHOULD see a doctor quickly!!! It sounds like "appendicitis" symptoms!!! Have it checked by a professional before it turns (if so) into a peritonitis which could be fatal. Wish you the best but follow up please.
