  1. I cant really say its safe to fly or not because these things just happen at random, but dont let it freak you out

  2. I think that you are unnecessarily concerned. Two of these crashes are not representative of the airline industry as a whole. And, don't forget that tens of thousands of flights have operated safely during the few days since these accidents occurred. There are no newspaper headlines about that.

Itek Air is blacklisted by the European Union due to its safety practices; therefore, it is not representative of the world's major airlines and cannot legally fly to many countries. Informed travelers from other countries will avoid flying on it. Aero Ruta Maya is a very small carrier with few passengers.

The Spanair flight was operated with an MD-80, one of the safest aircraft in the world. It has a hull loss rate of 0.48 per one million departures. That's extremely low by any standard.

Unfortunately, accidents happen occasionally, just as they do with cars and trains. However, no one is questioning the safety of those forms of transportation. I would not hesitate to fly on any major airline from a developed country.

  3. Do you realize that you are alot safer in an airplane that you are an automobile?    You hear about EVERY plane crash, which is very few, but you hear about 1,000 car accidents in a few months or so.      What you have to understand is: if it is your time to go, it does not matter where you are.   Elvis was on the toilet!

But it is alot safer in a plane than on ground!
