Why I connect my laptop to my TV and don't see any image?

I connected my laptop and my HDTV thru a DVI-to-VGA cable. My computer (Sony VAIO) says that recognize it, but when I change the format image in my HDTV to DVI, there's no image in my TV.

You may not have the appropriate software.

Some laptops require that you change a setting to either share or divert the display to the connector on the back.  If you are doing Windows try the Control Panel / Display or perhaps Laptop Controls if it is there.

Change your display settings on the laptop...

Put your tv on the channel labeled pc input.

You sould be able to drag items from the laptop across or up and down depending on the setup onto the tv display. This works with Vista.
