Why IP phone is better then normal PBX phone?

I think you are right, this is the reason why some small business will try hosted PBX.

All the customer clal will hit the Hosted PBX provider's datacenter first (which is more reliable with redundancy), and the IP-Phone extensions on customer location receive the call directed from the datacenter.

This way, when the lcoal Internet is disconnected for some reason. The Hosted PBX center can still receive the customer call. with the customer choice of leaving voice message or simply using the "one number follow me" feature to ring cell phone or regular phone line.

There are some risk, that is true. But the cost saving is a driving force now a day...
