Why Ijaz Butt is a cockroach?
Cockroaches have this certain resilience about them. Some cockroach species can stay alive for a month without food and are known to be able to survive even in the most challenging of conditions. They can live off the glue from the back of a postage stamp.
They can survive half an hour under water while some can go without air or oxygen for as long as 45 minutes. It is also said that if the world somehow ends up pressing the self destruct button ending in nuclear fallout, cockroaches would be the natural inheritors
of mother earth since radiation for them is like a big shiny orb in a night club.
Due to their sheer hardiness, cockroaches often have human connotations as well. Madonna for instance once famously likened herself to a cockroach. “I am a survivor. I am like a cockroach; you just can’t get rid of me.” These words somehow echo in the minds
of cricket fans as well especially for those smart beings that have a greater attention span than a gold fish. For those particular inhabitants who have happened to follow the game of cricket in the subcontinent, particularly Pakistan, must be aware of certain
specie of cockroach that has found abode in the cricketing circles.
This metaphor is in terms of sheer resilience of a man, who will not accept defeat, who refuses to leave even if that means that the cricket community one fine day decides to accidently press the red button to release crocodiles with rockets in their rear
sides directly on to his office. Yes my friends, this certain cockroach specie is what we commonly know as Mr. Ijaz Butt.
He has been like an impregnable wall. Even in the face of heaps of failure, this man simply cannot feel the weight. He is superhuman. If there was any category above the superhuman one, he would fall in that. Mr. Ijaz Butt is Pakistan’s own creation of a
human cockroach. The Sri Lankan cricket team almost got killed due to Mr. Ijaz Butt’s false assurances. In the aftermath of that surely no other man could have survived his position however, Mr. Ijaz Butt did.
That does not sum up his tenure with the PCB, in fact even hardly so. He then went on to appoint Mr. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javed-Miandad-c66580 in the PCB describing the latter’s position in a one line email. Mr. Miandad worked at the PCB for a good 3 months; however Mr. Ijaz forgot
that he had to be paid. In a later interview, he claimed that Mr. Miandad wanted more money.
He has made irrational, inexplicable and outright stupid decisions during his tenure with the PCB that in effect made people draw similarities between the cricket team of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/China-c40996. If the team has managed to scrap some
wins rest assured they have not been due to Mr. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128, but despite Mr. Ijaz Butt and for that alone they deserve an accolade.
Former cricketer, Amir Sohail suggested, ‘....sack every employee of the PCB since Mr. Ijaz is taking all the decisions.' According to Sohail, 'it would save a lot of money which is being dispensed as salaries to the gauntlet of the sycophants.’
The parliamentary committee for sports including Mr. Iqbal Mohammad Ali have screamed their voices hoarse demanding the removal of Mr. Butt but to no avail. Mr. Butt is responsible for humiliating PCB and the nation when he made some irrational erratic claims
on Indian television against the England cricket team.
This then resulted in Mr. Butt issuing an apology which was worded by the ECB themselves. Sources have now even hinted that Mr. Butt might possibly get an extension for another two years. If that happens, then the hypothesis that the chairman is in fact
a human cockroach will be confirmed. The citizens of Pakistan must revel in this newly given title to the chairman of the PCB, for no other person in the history of the nation has received this great honour in the past and it is doubtful that very many would
be able to claim this title in the future.
