Why Indian people are always so gentle and kind to tourist like me ?

  3. It is not for money nor for any favor. People who are noway connected to tourism also treat you the same and the masses are even more affectionate.

    It is in the culture.  'Athidhi devo bhava' - means 'Guest is God'

  4. Our tradition of treating the guest/tourist as " Atithi Devo Bhava " & values make Indians gentle & kind.

  5. I think their religion plays a part of it. Their religions are very peaceful so therefore, they are peaceful and kind people. =)

  6. Tourism Industry brings in foreign exchange.It generates employment in India.As service industry is all about a word of  mouth  it is bound to pay dividends in a long run if people like you get a hospitable treatment by the hosts

  9. I like the culture.  Most of the Indians I've met are very kind and mannerly.  But, I've generally only met those whose families have enough money to send them to college in the US or Canada.  I've never been to India and mingled with the masses.

    As someone else mentioned, if you are a tourist you are being treated with kid cloves by the service industry.  Tourism dollars are valuable and they want you back.

    You say you feel "alive".  Are you a single male?  Perhaps, money and potential visa are sought through marriage.
