The internet is most likely NOT a cause of moral decay in our society - but it is obviously contributing to a decay in spelling ability. Isn't it funny that automatic spellcheckers would decrease our ability to spell correctly.

To play the devil's advocate here - The internet makes pornography more widely available than ever before in human history. When I was a kid, we would go through neighbors garbage bags in search of Playboy magazines that people had discarded. You still can't go to adult video stores without, well, being an adult. But, with the internet, pornography is widely available with minimal age verification.

The internet makes the learning of immoral behaviors more achievable - because the information is now at your fingertips. You don't have to go to prison/jail/dopeholes to learn criminal behaviors.

And, perhaps, the internet has made pedophilic attacks easier.

On the other hand, since the advent of widespread internet use in the mid 1990s, crime has dropped (except cybercrime), the divorce rate has levelled, the number of out-of-wedlock births has leveled. The so-called "moral decay" has been going on since long before the internet. In fact, if you read John Stuart Mills writings from the 1840s, he also talked about the moral decay of America. People have been whining about moral decay since 1792, when the Church stopped ruling Western Society.

Plus, "moral societies" like Puritan-era America were hellholes that no modern person would want to live in.

actually it is not because a person can keep in contact

with other people easier, and get medical data and

keep your mind busy looking things up..

the moral decay would come from that person himself

because he or she chooses to think that way and would do it
