The reason why dogs are easier to train than cats is because dogs are used to living in a rigid pack formation where they abide by rules given by a pack leader. As dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years, they generally regard the human figure as a pack leader, and are willing to abide by instructions given by humans. Cats, however, are solitary animals who have become used to deciding on how they live/controlling their own lives without any intervention from anyone. Therefore, they are not used to human instruction and are harder to train than dogs.

Its actually quite easy to train a cat, and many people have cats that do tricks, and there are even organized cat agility course events, similar to a dogs agility course.

Its really unfortunate that people still believe that cats are untrainable, because house cats tend to be a bit bored, fat, and in need of something stimulating to do.

cats are more stubborn than dogs, but that doesn't mean cats are less likable than dogs.
