And shack em up for 1-million pound a year?

I read on The Sun's webpage a second terrorist has been released. How on earth do they afford 1-million pound a year (if that is right)?

  1. Its because of a shortage of prison space. Its seems odd to me that Britain can afford to build  not one but two very large aircraft carriers costing billions but can't afford a few more prisons   If they keep these potential killers in jail we may not need the carriers.

  2. You read the Sun?  Well I could stop here!

But here in the UK we have this funny old thing called the rule of law. You have that too, in case you didn't know.

The difference is here that we don't choose to defile our principles by having a place like Guantamo Bay, where you can beat the shite out of whoever you like until they say what they are told.

It follows, my American friend, that we have to let them go if we can prove nothing and as we have what you call welfare here we have to support them as well!

If this is too difficult for you, please just complain to the Answers team. I find this type of question depressing really...

Update Mama T!  Why cannot my American cousins distinguish sarcasm from irony? Depressing as I said...

Go in peace & don't judge us by our gutter press.

  3. Two words - " The Sun".
