Why Is The Weather In The UK So Poor?

I have lived in the UK all my life.

And I can confidently say that the weather in this country is c**p.

Looking at the UK on the world map it is not that far away from France and the northern parts of France. They get reasonable weather where we get rubbish weather most of the year.

Why does the UK have such poor weather?

One line of thinking is I have heard that we get the trade winds and low pressures from the northern parts of Europe and this causes us to experience their poor weather pattern in the UK.

Apart from the obvious climatological reasons, the weather is so poor because it's overtaxed, like everything else in the UK.
