Why Italians hate themselves so much?

People from Milan hate people from Rome, but people form Rome hate people from Naples..a considerable part of northern italian people hate all southern italy sayng "we pay for you, you neither try to get a job" (obviously false)..does something similar happen in UK?

Did you say Bradfordians or Italians,if you mean Italians you have gotta be joking,they have to be the most arrogant people nxt to the Brits,they really do love themselves,even the ugly one's !The regional bias in the UK is very much the same as anywere in the world,Londoners being the wideboys and the snobbery gets worse about the ignorant northerners,(of Watford that is)

There is a bit of a North Vs South divide, which is more banter than anything else, as there are lots more job opportunities in the South, but the North are more pleasant. Scottish and English people can feel some hostility towards each other as the English refuse to completely devolve parliament to the Scottish and won't let them fully have their own independence, and the Welsh detest the English on the most part as they won't even let them call their own country a country. The Irish seem pretty amiable, but I am sure they hate the English too. In a nutshell, being English usually gets you a better job and a better standard of living marginally, but at a cost of being despised by your neighbours!!

Italy is a new country.It unified in 1861 and for 1000s of years prior to that, where independent kingdoms.They had different customs,money and habits and those differences are used today to gain superiority from one area to another.Southern Italy has a history of agriculture,which is subsistence living,the north is banking,finance and manufacturing,which is highly profitable.There is a political party (Lombardi)that wants to split from the south.See the film "Rocco and his boys" for an example of this

They have the same in every country,UK is just as bad!!!!

Actually let me elaborate this::

a) the Welsh hate the English

b)the Scottish hate the English

c)the Irish hate the English

d)English like the Scottish and Irish(Welsh not as much!)

e)Northern English hate the Southern English

The whole world hates the British so it makes the Southern English one of the most hated breeds in the world!

i'm italian, and my family is that way, and to be honest, i have no idea.

and everyone hates Sicily and Sicily hates everyone else just as much.

i think it has to do with all of the different groups, each part of italy had different foods and cultures. i think that it's like every other culture, you're taught to hate anything that isn't like you. =D
