King Tutt gets the only recognition as an Egyptian King. What about those other kings who were also important and mysterious. So basicly, I want to know why everyone only cares about King Tutt.

  1. King Tutankhamun was a minor Egyptian king if you look at the big picture and instead of watching only National Geographic (not to say you personally are guilty of this, as it seems like you are not ignorant of history) to get your information on the Egyptian monarchy, if you picked up a book on the Egyptian monarchy written by a well respected researcher or historian, you would realize this.

King Tut is almost a nobody in the history community when compared to Egyptian royalty figures such as Ramses II, who was very successful militarily wise and socially wise, or Cleopatra, a female pharoah, who was a partner of the Roman Marc Anthony and her partnership with him created an alliance between Rome and Egypt at the time.

  2. King Tut was actually a very minor historical figure.  There were many other much more important Egyptian Pharos.

The reason King Tut is so well known and popular is simply because he was the one that archeoligists were first able to learn about and from.

His claim to fame is simply that he was discovered first.

  3. He was a boy King

  4. one he was discovered of last.

two he was the youngest king (13 years old)

three died the youngest ever (18)

four supposedly one of his leaders in military killed he. idk about that but that is what i heard.

  5. he was very young when he died, his tomb was found almost intact, and there was his curse (which turned out to be a fungus of course) but that was enough to make him popular

  6. Tutankhamun was only 9 years old when he became pharaoh. He died 9 years later, at age 18. In historical terms, Tutankhamun is of only moderate significance, and his modern fame and popularity stems from the fact that his tomb in the Valley of the Kings was discovered almost completely intact, and is still the most complete ancient Egyptian tomb ever yet found. However, he also is significant as a figure among those who managed the beginning of the transition from the heretical Atenism of his predecessors Akhenaten and perhaps Smenkhkare back to the familiar Egyptian religion. As Tutankhamun began his reign at such an early age, his vizier and eventual successor Ay was probably making most of the important political decisions during Tutankhamun's reign. The 1922 discovery by Howard Carter of Tutankhamun received worldwide press coverage and sparked a renewed public interest in ancient Egypt, for which Tutankhamun's burial mask remains the popular face.
