Noveau riche in French and world football, Paris Saint-Germain have not plundered their fellow Ligue 1 outfits and there are a lot of reasons behind this according to the club’s Chief Operating Office, Jean-Claude Blanc
Since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 hoisted its flag on Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain have become one of the most active football clubs not only in Europe, but the whole world. In total, 19 players have joined Les Rouges et Bleu since last season. However, it is indeed
surprising to see that only four of those players have been recruited from Ligue 1 clubs.
The likes of Milan Bisevac, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Douchez-c27810 are the only players who joined the capital club from Ligue 1 outfits. This has caused a lot of discontent among many presidents of French clubs who are regretting lack of investment
in France by the Parisian club.
Indeed, this is a fact that cannot be denied especially if one considers another fact that the likes of Gameiro and Douchez were signed prior to the official takeover of Qatar Investment Authority.
However, there are a lot of reasons due to which the club has been hesitant in trying its luck with local players. While talking to L’Equipe, the club’s Chief Operating Officer, Jean-Claude Blanc responded to his opposite counterparts’ regrets.
Blanc says that sporting director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 but statements given by the presidents of various clubs also need to be taken into account. Many presidents have officially stated that they will sell their
players to PSG for twice as much as their original amount.
According to Blanc, the club has been held to ransom many a times by other Ligue 1 sides. Many presidents have quoted astronomical amounts for their players which is wrong.
“Leonardo has looked carefully at players who play in France. But we must also take into account statements of some presidents who said they would sell their players for twice as much to Paris Saint-Germain than other clubs. PSG will not acquire players
for twice as much price. We made transactions that were ‘in the market’. There are others who did not come because amounts requested by French presidents were not reasonable.”
