I dream of doing too many things in life..achieving great heights in Life..but when I think of starting work towards it Or I start my journey towards it..nothing realy happens and am laid back again..

Is it a myth that enormous success in life is only to a gifted few and not for everyone? Is it because that we have been made that way that many of us should be content only with a happy and normal life and should not dream and expect more?

Why Life is so strange and not according to our wishes?

  1. It's all about ACTION. Putting yourself in the right place at the right time. It's about not giving up. If you don't give up you will eventually achieve what you want and even if by some minuute possibility you don't you can say at least I tried. That's better than not trying at all.

The reason why it dosen't crystalize for you and become real is because you're not taking any action. You are becoming comfortable in your ways and not working toward the goal.

Many give up easy. Many stop when they realize it takes work. You don't just come into things- everything starts with small steps then if you just work hard enough and the odds are on your side it becomes real.

The people who have made it didnt just get there one day overnight and discover they made it. They were the one who took ACTION and went after their dreams and did not give up even after rejection.

Then there are the millions like you who say d**n, If only I didn't give up or if i got off the couch I couldve been somebody.

Some people claim to be content with a "normal" life but if you aren't go do it and don't give up until you feel a sense of personal accomplishment..

You need the mean and the heart if you want to become one of the few.

  2. You have to set a realistic goal, instead of saying 'I'm going to be a millionaiire, or a famous actress' work towards gaining qualifications and getting a good job, or working in a theatre company for example.

Happiness is a state of mind, you don't have to be a huge 'success' to be happy and even if you are, it doesn't neccessarily mean you will be happy.

    Happiness is contentment without complacency.

  3. There's only so much success to go around, see. So you may not be one of the lucky ones. Anyways, having a happy and normal life is what it's all about. You should watch those old 'Kung Fu' shows. On television with David Carradine. You need some Enlightenment.

  4. What you are lacking is the determination.  People use the "I'm not smart enough" excuse a lot.  Or other circumstances like money, or family.

That's complete bullshit.  We know through history that nothing should stop you from doing what you wish.

Roosevelt had polio, yet he became president of the U.S.

now look at Obama, who grew up in poverty.

Rocket scientist, and brain surgeons at one point didn't exist.

Someone had to conceive the idea of being able to study and practice these things, and someone had to be the first to achieve it.

Things don't fall on our lap through wishing.

Or giving up after a month or a year of no success.

    Wishes are imaginary.  Work isn't.

    Work gets you ahead.

  5. Response to poster(s) above: Yes it is about action, but what others are doing, the odds, is also a big part of it.

Answer: That depends on what you mean by "enormous success". Becoming Donald Trump rich for example, is not something that everybody can realistically do, no matter how "hard" they work - there's not enough money in circulation for everyone to be that rich, and if it was possible, inflation would be a *****, so everything would go back to the way it is now. Society simply isn't designed to be that way.

Social Darwinism implies that there just aren't enough resources to go around for everyone to have an ample supply, so only those who "compete" the hardest should, or will, get the most resources (which is bullshit because there are plenty of resources to go around for everyone). The problem with that is, those who have the ample resources in society, never really "worked" for it, they gained from someone else's work - like business execs gain from the work of the common employee.

Some forms of success as shown by those higher up the social ladder are just like carrots on a stick for those on the lower levels. These "carrots on a stick" keep those lower down the ladder complacent with the current social systems.

"Success" is possible, but yes you do have to work for it (if you're starting out with nothing).

  6. It's great to have dreams and achieve great heights, but I believe that if you try a lot of different things without concentrating on the one thing you really love or know, your energy is wasted. Success in life is not the same thing to everyone. If you achieve a goal of your own desire, it is considered a success. It may not be to someone else, but if it was your own choice to reach that goal and you did, that's success. For example, I consider it a success that I survived a diagnosis of a mental illness that would have literally killed me had I not reached out for help. Some people may not think this is a success, but for me it was. I would not be here today telling you this if it were any other way. If you learned anything from what I just said, then it is a success. I was helped by someone, you are helped by someone, you can help someone else. Do you see what I am saying?

Life is strange because there are many people with different beliefs. Each of us has free will. We make our own choices. Every time we make a choice, there is a consequence to that choice. And because of this, we cannot expect life to give us whatever is "according to our wishes". If that were to happen, what would be the reason for living? Life presents challenges to help us improve ourselves and to make us stronger for our next challenge. If there were no challenges, how worthwhile do you think life would be? Sometimes I cannot write what I really want to say (a challenge for me) but I hope that you are able to get something out of this answer that may help you. I wish you the very best.

  7. You should never stop dreaming or settle for anything less than your greatest ambitions. Think about how important you are in relation to the huge, infinite universe we live in. There are potentially trillions of single celled organisms on other planets, but you were created as a person, a human being, to make your mark on the world. You are important. There is a reason why you are here and your duty is to fulfill what all of your capabilities.
