NEW YORK (AP) — A McDonald's franchisee will pay a $1 million fine after pleading guilty in Las Vegas federal court to felony immigration offenses for giving false Social Security numbers to illegal aliens.

It's a good deal for McDonalds! No taxes on illegals. If they get injured the American taxpayer pays and McDonalds just gets a replacement. No insurance, no workmans comp, pay whatever they want, forced to work whenever, etc.  A real good deal for McDonalds! When caught a slap on the wrist! Fines are usually a lot less than the monies saved by their criminal acts of hiring illegal aliens! Corporate America at its best!

It was a franchisee, not McDonald's itself, that broke the law and has to pay the penalty prescribed by law.  So that fine is significantly large to the company which owns the franchise for that particular restaurant (or group of restaurants).  

You can be sure McDonald's corporate offices have shot out a memo to all franchisees to remind them that the corporation's franchise documents prohibit franchisees from violating labor laws and such.  This franchisee could not only have to pay the $ million fine, but could lose their franchise, too.

And any illegal aliens with half a brain will avoid applying for jobs with McD's (& other fast-food chains), or leave the job if they got one.  You can bet your boots ICE has other McD's franchisees in their cross-hairs, as well as other fast food chain franchisees.  It doesn't stop here.

And, who gets the million bucks? Will it be the local teenagers who couldn't find summer jobs? Willl it be the local hospitals who have to treat these invaders? Will it be the victims of crimes committed by these invaders?

No. It will be the U.S. govt. They always seem to benefit from illegals no matter which way the tide turns.

They are supposed to hire legal workers with proper documentation.  They already pay low wages, so hiring illegals allows them to pay even lower wages.

It was not McDonalds the corporation, but a group of McDonalds who had illegally aided and abetted illegal aliens. Since most of McDonald's franchises are privately owned, a $1 million fine is a significant punishment. I am glad that ICE is more active now than it was in the first six years of the Bush administration. I hope president McCain will continue supporting ICE.

It's a fact that a president Obama would gut ICE and allow all illegals to stay in our country.
