Why Mike Krzyzewski should take over the Miami Heat?
Mike Krzyzewski who is the coach for Duke Universities basketball team Duke Blue Devils, might be one of the most detested coach outside South Beach, but he is most certainly hated due to his great ability as a coach not because he has proved to be a failure.
Mike Krzyzewski has proven to the world that he can easily handle the NBA’s biggest egos by coaching America’s Olympic Basketball team.
Krzyzewski has dealt with the newly formed trio in the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh, while coaching them for the 2008 Olympics. “The Redeem Team” aka U.S men’s Olympic basketball team won the 2008 Olympic Basketball final beating Spain by 107-118. Mike can definitely hold down egos due to his ambitious nature, which is to win no matter what the odds are.
Mike made sure the team would win no matter what, if the same thought process is kept by Miami Heat under Mike’s instructions, he could lead them to a much needed NBA championship.
Experts say the thought of fighting over who should take the final shot should be appreciated more than who should own the team should be disregarded, as it is childish and in order to achieve a bigger goal they need to refrain from such lewdness.
King James and Chris both are desperate for a championship which only Dwyane was fortunate enough to get a taste off in 2006 against the Dallas Mavericks. The man who could keep control of such a monster infested team is Mike Krzyzewski, he is a man who could keep their bloated egos intact, keeping the players grounded. He is the coach who has helped them grab the most shimmering award they have gotten, till date.
Although the notion of considering Mike Kryzewski to take Erik Spoelstra position who is Miami Heat’s current head coach since 2008 might seem all hearsay but the fact that that Erick in the past two years has not brought much change to the team and the reality is he also cannot be compared to a veteran coach like Mike who has remarkable history.
Mike Krzyzewski has already turned down offers from the New Jersey Nets who hoped he’ll be joining them this season, but that seems understandable as the Nets is an horrendous team. Any coach who would contemplate on taking over the team would be making a tremendous mistake. On the other hand Miami Heat has obtained star players like Dywane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh who most coaches would love to tend.
Needleless to say Krzyzewksi helped Duke Blue Devils recently put an end to an eight-year drought, by winning a national championship. The point is to comprehend the fact that Mike has done and achieved all he could as a college team coach and it is time for him to move on, he needs a fresh start and an opportunity like this could really take him to a whole new level – winning the NBA Championship.
So the question is why would Mike leave such an ideal place which is like his haven? Duke is where he has won national championships, has achieved a gold medal, he will soon be added to the Hall of Fame and has been considered a great coach since a long time. Yet the fact that he is missing an NBA championship title is a big reason, as to why he should move towards the professional league. That is one thing that his missing from his collection of various trophies and achievements.
Regardless of the fact why he should move to NBA, It is quite unfortunate that Miami thinks that Krzyzewski is good where he is, which is with the Dukes at college level. What Miami should do is ask LeBron James how much a good coach can facilitate a team that might help them realize how big of an asset Mike Krzyzewski can become for them.
