  1. See www.jtaplin.wordpress.com  for the straight goods on the Georgian situation.  Americans are being fed a load of c**p via the mainstream media.

  2. He misjudged the level of Russian response to his attack.

  3. Good question.  Karl Rove was "vacationing" in the Crimea, right beside Georgia, two weeks before Georgia attacked the Russian peace keepers in Ossetia.  It might be that the US goaded him into attacking, that Mr. Bush made certain promises on behalf of our country to Georgia if they attacked Russia.  Why would that be?  Maybe so Mr. Bush could cancel the 2008 elections.  Maybe to raise the price of oil some more for the wealthy Texas parasites who control our gvt.  Having lied the country into the Iraq War, it is impossible to trust Mr. Bush at all in this Georgia-Russia war.  This may be a case where Russia is in the right, and the US in the wrong.  It was wrong in Iraq, it may be wrong here too.  It would be nice to know but of course our so called "press" is still covering Senator Edwards' private s*x life.  The press isn't worth a pitcher of spit.

  4. There is nothing to seize in S. Ossetia. It is Georgian territory. It is Georgian land, and not Russia's.

  5. Because he believed his American  employers' lies.  Just like Blair.

  6. He was sure that his allies specifically US would back him up unconditionally. Then they didn't think response from Russia will be fierce. They had been poking Russia for few years and Russians just backed of.

Well the results are clear now, Russia has sent a clear message that it will protect its interests. There is a lot more going on. Russia has made it clear that Russia will not tolerate US influence within its sphere. So it was a clear statement.

Georgia attacked S.O during the Olympics, when Russia before had specifically warned Georgia against any such move. Rather Russians were ready.

"By declaring the Caucasus, a region that is thousands of miles from the American continent, a sphere of its 'national interest,' the United States made a serious blunder."
