Why Minnesota Wild Will Win the Stanley Cup Post-Lockout Season –NHL Special
Few teams have managed to drastically change their image and potential over this year’s offseason and the Minnesota Wild definitely have to be amongst the top, if not number one.
Minnesota, with a totally changed look and revamped line-up, looks to be the team that will very well bring home the cup next season and shock the crowd when the time to finally play some hockey comes around.
The Wild, if the start of the past seasons are analysed, manage to work their way up early on in the season and fight really hard to stay there but due to the lack of dedication and consistency, they fail in doing that. Minnesota is usually in the bottom
spots when the time comes to make the cut for the playoffs, which certainly depresses fans that live to see hockey in the city.
Next time, with the new additions of former New Jersey Devils captain, Zach Parise, and top rated Nashville Predators’ defenseman, Ryan Suter, Minnesota is set to take the stage and put up a tough fight to anyone that crosses their path. Not only will the
Wild be taking on teams from every angle, but they very well may penetrate some of the top spots in the Western Conference and stay there for the playoffs.
Last season, Minnesota ended up as 12th in the Western Conference, finishing with 81 points and needing more than 10 to get back into the playoff race. They ended below rookie filled Colorado Avalanche, but now, after picking up the two most looked
forward to free agents, the Wild have changed the prospects altogether.
Zach Parise is without a doubt the more valuable of the two seeing his potential to lead a team to the Stanley Cup Finals, which he did for the New Jersey Devils in 2012. They may have lost against the Los Angeles Kings, but that was most certainly due to
the fact that Parise did not have anyone to back him up on certain situations while the LA team was very well equipped in all departments.
For the last four seasons, the Minnesota Wild has failed to make the playoffs. The last time they did see some action in the postseason was back in 2008 when they lost against the Colorado Avalanche in six games during the quarterfinals.
It will definitely be interesting to see the Minnesota Wild next season as fans also look forward to see some of the best NHLers in action.
