  1. I believe that Ireland will need to score 4 tries more than the Pumas to qualify.........you get 1 bonus point for scoring 4 tries, which the Argies have done, therefore Ireland need to defend (not let them score 4 tries)and attack (score 4 tries) tomorrow to qualify!

  2. ireland need 2 jus smash them which they wont do!:)

  3. because I darn well say so! end of discussion.

  4. Because they need also to win but score 4 tries and getting a bonus point to knock off the Pumas on the points table .

Winning by 8 points or more would deny the Puma's a bonus point .

  5. What are you talking about!!!!??????!!!!!

  6. All these answers and still no one answered your question properly.  The reason they only need to win by 8 and not 40+ is because the points differential doesn't matter.  The first criteria for deciding who finishes higher when two teams are tied is the winner of the corresponding game.  So if Ireland and Argentina are tied on points, then the winner of the Ireland vs Argentina game goes through.

Hypothetically, if they were tied and the game they played was a tie, THEN it would go to points differential, then try differential, then most points scored, then most tries scored and if it is still tied after all that, then the team that is higher ranked by the IRB on October 1st 2007 will go through.

  7. they need to win and score four tries to get the bonus point also they need to prevent the argis from scoring 4 tries.   all pigs fully fueled and ready for   take off?
