Why NBA banned upside down headbands

I heared from someone NBA bans upside down headbands. This is America - it's called freedom. You can do whatever you want as long as you do not offend other people. No one was hurt by a headband upside-down, so why get rid of it? It is ridiculous and players must fight back. He has no right to take their freedoms.I want to know that why officials applying these kind of things on NBA players?
