Why Nastia Liukin can get a silver while Yilin Yang only have a bronze on uneven bars?

I am sick of American supporters blindly suggested that Nastia was robbed of her gold because tie break system is unfair, Nastia was underscored blah blah blah.

Have you all watched Yilin performed? She finished her routine perfectly, even her landing was perfect and nailed to the ground. Yet, she only got 8.9xx pts out of 10 in execution (Even Nastine and He got 9+ in execution and both of them had obvious missings even a layperson can see) which made her 0.075 pts behind Nastia and only got a bronze. 8.9 is a very low pts which should mean a major mistake but we cannot find any. You should see how surpise everyone was in TV, including Nastia when the score showed.

Some suggest she made a few turns a little bit slow, but it still cannot explain the 8.9 pts.

Did NBC not show Yilin at all?

I am a huge fan of Nastia and the team event loss to China was hard to swallow due to the obvious errors in judging, BUT i completely agree w/ the poster, this is exactly what i thought when i watched the uneven bars competition.

Watch Yilin performance - that was a gold medal winning performance.  At the least, the performance was on par w/ Nastia and honestly, this was a three-way split for gold.  Listen to the commentary on Yilin's performance - look how quick the NBC commentators were to move on from praising it.  They had absolutely nothing critical to say about it b/c they knew it was solid, and thus they moved on QUICK to resume discussion of the whole "controversy" b/w Nastia and He.

That performance was a mirror image of Nastia's and NBC's quick cut away from coverage of that performance is proof in the pudding.

The worst part of these Olympics is the staggering gold deficit b/w China and US.  But the incessant bttching by the commentators is just adding salt to the wound and makes all of us look like a bunch of whining sore losers.

Actually Yilin had the most consistent judging. All her scores had the least amount of range (8.80 to 9.1)

For some reason the Aussie judge gave He a 9.3 while the Polish judge gave Luikin a 9.3 as well.

Basically, I think judges who deviate over .2 from the averaged score need to be questioned.

Are you Gymnastics illiterate? Shawn Johnson was robbed of 3 gold medals.. QUit complaing Yilin didn't get a bronze when Johnson was robbed in all 3 of her events! Go back to the Fashion section, you add nothing here you Gymnastics illiterate! LMAO!

So my question is....when it comes out that these chinese gymnasts are underage and the Chinese government cheated, what injustices will you spout out then?  Everyone is entitled to an opinion, you just as much as anybody...

So why ask a question you know is going to upset everybody?  

Gymnastic scoring isn't an exact science.

It's not who's is better than who. I think why people were upset was that the scores were the same so why not award both gymnast gold medal. Why not? Why do they have to lower one down, were there not enough medals?

A couple of days ago, an American and a guy from another country both won bronze for swimming. Both stood together to receive their medals.

Yilin was perfect in every way even nbc guys where surprised she should have gotten gold everyone seriously believed she won they even carried her. Nastia Liukin should have gotten no more than a bronze or a silver.

Okay lets point out some of Yilin mistake there were three times where she separated her legs and each one lower her score. Also her she had bad switch from high bar to low bow and could have had more points taken off. She also didn't do one of her handstand to the right execution. The landing matter but there are other factors. Also Nastia stuck her landing to.  

The china team and underage girls will lose their medals just like the American sprinters did that used steroid. It may take a while but it will happend. The whole team we lose it to like in the 4 by 100 relay only one was postive for steroid but all four lost thier medals

I agree!   NBC is ssoooooo biased and made it look like Nastia was cheated, maybe the american viewers arent to blame, but thier channel :NBC is to blame for making them "think" that the US was robbed

because the americans only want the american players to win and so they bribe some of the judges. my conspiracy theory. and on NBC whenever u listen to the announcer he always disses the players except for americans.

It's over and done with. And all of the women's gymanstics have been judged unfairly in favor of certain countries. Can't change it so why complain over it.

I don't know, but I feel sorry for Yilin Yang now.  Knowing the Chinese government, they will probably beat her for punishment when no one is looking.
