Why New Jersey Devils will win Game 5 against Los Angeles Kings -NHL Stanley Cup Finals Special
New Jersey Devils have come a long way and kept their fans hopes alive by downing Los Angeles Kings in Game 4 of the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Finals in what could have been their final contest.
History might not be on the Devils side when it comes to winning the Stanley Cup since no one ever, has managed to comeback from a 3-0 deficit and take home the most coveted prize of the hockey world, but New Jersey plans on achieving the unimaginable.
"We definitely are looking forward to the next game and some of the momentum," NJ goalie, Martin Brodeur, said. "Finally, we were able to score goals on Quick, not many, but enough to win. Hopefully, that's going to be a good thing for the boys coming home,
that we're a little better offensively on home ice."
Here are a few reasons why New Jersey Devils will win Game 5 against Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Prudential Center in Newark:
Offensive Spark
Game 4 proved to carry the much needed spark that New Jersey Devils had been looking for this entire series against Los Angeles.
There was a significant impact from their offensive line-up that just could not penetrate the defensive end of Los Angeles but Game 4 was the day they would take over and respond.
Zach Parise and Adam Henrique played a major role in leading their team at the offensive end and should be two players to watch in Game 5 for sure. Ilya Kovalchuk will be giving it his all and if it works out his way, Kings could be facing a tough time.
The only reason why Kings dominated the opening three games is because of New Jersey’s lacking offence and if now Devils shooters continue with the same momentum, everything just seems to be levelled up now.
Martin Brodeur
Obviously Martin Brodeur is the only man that can lead New Jersey to the cup with his amazing goaltending and vast experience in winning the cup. Brodeur might not ever get a chance again to bring home the cup and now is the time to do it.
His performance in Game 4 was remarkable as he outplayed Los Angeles Kings’ Jonathan Quick for the first time in this series. Brodeur will need to continue playing that way if Devils are to win Game 5 and see another day.
"I think it's a tough situation, you know, for us to be in," Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur said. But, he said, "We pulled it off, one game."
Game 5 will definitely be an exciting matchup as both teams have everything on the line. New Jersey Devils are hot and confident, which just might be enough to turn the series around.
