Guys, I think you are crazy. Yankees has been one of the most successful team for about a decade but NY fans and medias make them to think if they don’t win the WS, it will be a huge disappointment. I just read someone saying David Wright had a disappointed season. Are you kidding me? He was not a disappointment. I think he is a strong MVP candidate this year. Mets just swept Brewers and 2 and half lead over Phillies. I bet a lot of NY fans still think it is disappointment for them. No matter how much money you pay them or how much expectation you have for them. They are people, not GODs. The kind of thinking that their team should go 162-0 every season is the reason Yankees is playing so bad this year.

Mets had a great season, David Wright is one of the best player in the league and they are one helluva team. Would you repeat that 100 times please?

  1. I can't speak for Mets fans on this one but can for Yankee fans as I am one. I don't think it's the fans and media that think every year the Yankees don't win the World Series is a failure. That directive comes staright from the top. George had said that numerous times and now Hank is following in that credo. The fans that do believe that only became Yankee fans in the mid 90's.

When you spend $200 Million on payroll you expect to have a great chance at winning the World Series but it is unrealistic to think that they will win every World Series. I do find it a dissapointment that they have not won since 2000 but am extremely grateful that I have the Steinbrenner's as owners of the Yankees. They continue year after year spending money on this team to give them the best chance possible of making a run.

If not for all the injuries they have suffered from this season (Wang, Hughes, Chamberlain, Posada, Matsui, A-rod, etc, etc....) they would probably be playing in the playoffs again this year. And honestly, with the talent they have they should still be.

Who knows? It could still happen. I think the Phillies came back on the Mets being 7 games back with 17 or so to play last season so anything's possible.

  2. You're right.  I am a Yankees fan and I expect them to win.  We have the greatest resources and the greatest owners who have the teams best interests in mind.  That is a recipe for success.  I know they are human which is why you won't find me booing A Rod after he tagged a ball which resulted in a double play in the 9th inning the other day.  Those are the breaks, it's baseball.

I know it's stupid to expect a championship every year but it's not stupid to settle for mediocrity either.

  3. we just have high expectations its not our fault that we want the best for our team.....
