Last year when I met T-Series Marketting Chief in Mumbai ,he told me :"In India ,neither any Website /ISP can share revenue with us nor even Government are strongly implement Anti p****y Mission ". That's why we loss year after year.Music to the ears of record labels, maybe. But is the latest attempt to stop illegal downloading of music going to work?Today's big story is that 90% of people could face "punishment" if they're found to have been illegally downloading music. (Yes, that means you too.)The story appeared first on the BBC, which revealed that the big six net providers have signed an anti-p****y deal. Hundreds of thousands of people will soon receive letters in the post telling them to stop illegally sharing music. The deal signed by internet service providers has committed them to making a "significant reduction" in file sharing. 1. Is something like what you have perceived possible in this country, practically?

The Government is seriously enforcing the laws but the common man, does not bother and wants spurious and cheaper version.

But all these efforts are in vain. As long as the citizens, does not exercise the true rights and behave like gentlemen citizens, any law or statute is impossible to enforce.

Why should we not download a song, when it is available for a song?

Why pay for it, when it is available free? Is it not foolish?

But, p****y, should be prosecuted. I can produce and generate arguments for both cases. But as an Indian, I sincerely, feel, when I can get something free, why should I pay for it? Simple common sense, but not bothered about other things.

  2. Lawmakers around the world are making ' some effort' to curb p****y but having said that, illegal downloads are still very common in the UK and the rest of the world, its all down to the individuals ethics.

What might surprise you is that India actually has a cyber crime framework, India was one of the first countries to enact laws in relation to IT which includes p****y of music and software.

In recent times there have been 'some' attempts by the police to stop p****y. p****y is one of the last concerns for law enforcement because with the rampant corruption and lax attitudes - no law is enforced properly and there are other more important laws that aren't followed either.

India in general needs to improve law enforcement which can only be achieved through the participation of common public.
