Why Scotland and Wales are not in Eurovision?

Question

I mean all those little countriess there and not Wales or Scotland, but San Marino, and Andora, like 10 people each (thousand)?

It would also help England get more votes!

The UK entry represented the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) Unfortunately we arent able to compete as four seperate countries.

Thats kind of a silly question (no offense) because we enter as U.K which includes England, Scotland and Wales. We could all have separate entries but we choose to do it together, probably to help get more votes and publicity. I don't think you quite understand what you are saying. Thats sounds stupid but if you understand you will get what i mean!

becaus they are not countries, they are states within the UK...did you not notice that it was the UK entering and not England...open your eyes my friend.

Yes i believe we should be able to enter individually,

Wales and Scotland would rarely vote for England though and who can blame them.

I am welsh and I'd never vote for England.

Mind you Ireland and Scotland would have votes off us alot I'm sure.

Edit- Wales, England and Scotland didn't have a choice at all. It's always someone from England representing the Uk. Why do you think people refer to us as England when were not. And it does our heads in. Welsh is a language of the Uk, Scots Gaelic is why arent these ever represented on our choice of songs. Because it's all over dominence of the English vote and the English themselves.

Btw to the person who doesn't want to hear welsh sing. ou don't have to mute the tv. But most of the worlds singers are welsh or have a welsh connection, We are now as the land of song and our language is the most lyrical and musical language on earth proven fact. So do be quiet.

I'm with you on this one.  If San Marino (somewhere in Italy) can enter, so should the Isle of Wight.  It's about 5 times bigger than San Marino!  And then how about Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Sheppey, all the little Scottish islands...  Ha ha, if Russia can split itself into a dozen countries so can we!

sadly UK block voting wouldnt work as the english wouldnt vote for us scots!! And anyway we scots have sense and dont enter....think Lulu was our last contestant!

Firstly because we Scots have got more common sense.

I don't know which Eurovision you watched, but we're entered as the United Kingdom - ie Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland.  Dafty.... x

they are in eurovision. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern ireland all club together to make the UK. the reason they have ti enter together is because they are governed by the same government and are seen as one 'country'.

Its not England that enters the Eurovision, its the UNITED KINGDOM meaning that includes Scotland and Wales.....
