  1. Gotta' love Babelfish. ;-) I'm going to take a wild guess at your intended meaning based on the way AltaVista tends to interpret various other languages into English.

"Is sympathy a sign of an advanced mind/soul?"

I'd have to say no. Empathy, on the other hand, would be. Sympathy - like its close cousin, pity - is more a form of unconscious contempt.

If I didn't understand the question correctly, would you be able to elaborate on what exactly you're asking? Will be glad to come back & amend my answer if you do that. :-)

  2. Sympathy or compassion is not from the mind. It is from the true self seeing itself. Seeing physical suffering, most of us react from our very core. But the reaction is deeper than that. A person almost dies or does die saving a complete stranger. A decision made with no thought of self. I am that I am. I am that.

  3. Friend,

Let me admit that I see no relation between sympathy and self -expansion.

They two are entirely different , and I feel that sympathy plays no role in self-expansion.

Sympathy is very much required in oue day to day life .It is a humane quality.

Can you add  some details for understanding your question please?

  4. "Please allow me to introduce myself I'm a man of wealth and taste

I've been around for a long, long years, stole many a man's soul and faith

And I was 'round when Jesus Christ had his moment of doubt and pain

Made d**n sure that Pilate washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you hope you guess my name

But what's puzzling you is the nature of my game

I stuck around St. Petersburg when I saw it was a time for a change

Killed the czar and his ministers, Anastasia screamed in vain

I rode a tank  held a general's rank when the blitzkrieg raged and the bodies stank

Pleased to meet you hope you guess my name

Ah, what's puzzling you is the nature of my game.

I watched with glee while your kings and queens fought for ten decades for the gods they made

I shouted out, "Who killed the Kennedys?" when after all it was you and me

Let me please introduce myself I'm a man of wealth and taste

And I laid traps for troubadours who get killed before they reached Bombay

Pleased to meet you hope you guessed my name.

But what's puzzling you is the nature of my game

Just as every cop is a criminal and all the sinners saints

As heads is tails just call me Lucifer

'Cause I'm in need of some restraint

So if you meet me, have some courtesy, have some sympathy, and some taste

Use all your well-learned politesse or I'll lay your soul to waste

Pleased to meet you hope you guessed my name..."
