Why Team GB? does everything have to be reduced to abbreviations? ?

Maybe I am getting old but whilst I understand the need for abbreviations I am not a little tired of having most things abbreviated. ie M & S; KFC and so on. Are we becoming so lazy that we can not be bothered giving and using full names

  1. team GB fits onto a bumper sticker easier...

Plus GB has several less letters making costumes cheaper...

I don't know... pure laziness probably

  2. When there doing the commentry and **** changes so fast. They need short words that are quick to say

  3. Maybe, but even abbreviation is a big word!

  4. Makes it sound like everything else in the country - tacky, and cheap as chips!

  5. OMG LOL LMAO IWTS

oh my god, laugh out loud, laughing me *** off i was thinking the same

  6. idk

  7. It because of an edict issued by Gordon Brown - it makes him think that he's 'soooo British'!

  8. Theres been abbreviations for centuries... it's not lazy it's just easier and fits into smaller spaces.

Also they are understood internationally. e.g. KFC is the smae across europe, but i bet poland doesnt know wat kentuckyfried cicken is.

  9. Annoying isn't it? in our family they're known as TLAs (three letter acronyms)

  10. Why does it matter, if every1 understands it, why go out of ur way to make it harder.

  11. It saves time  but can get a little silly - feel free to fully articulate and see how you get on.

  12. Yes, let's go back to being GREAT BRITAIN, or is that not politically correct these days? Or should I say PC?

  13. I have no idea why they want to do that, maybe you have hit the nail on the head, when you say people are just too lazy to write the entire word, (something I refuse to do) It is also the reason the standard of spelling has gone down in recent years.
