Question:

Why Temperature on my graphic card is very High when I play Games?

When I play this games: Crysis, Assassins'Creed, Alone in the Dark and other games my Geforce 8800 Ultra temperature is more then 80, is this normal or i have problems with my graphic card?

  1. graphics cards normally run pretty hot.

    I'm not sure what average temps are for the 8800 ultra but as long as your system is not crashing and the card cools down after that it should be fine.

    Also i hope you mean 80 F.

    Because if your card is running at 80 C, you might want to give the company that made your card a call, if your card hasn't melted yet...  


  2. 80 degrees Fahrenheit or Celcius? For Fahrenheit this is low. For Celcius this is high. Don't be worried, I've head that these cards run very warm. Keep in mind that the temperature sensors in these cards may be off by up to 20 degrees Celcius as well. As to why it heats up, all the electrical wires in the card are somewhat resistant to energy passing through them. The processor itself is millions of resistors. When electricity passes through a wire that has resistance, the wire heats up. This is WHY it heats up.
