The whole conflict with Russia And Georgia is just plain ridiculous, but why is Bush urging anyone anything? Today he made a speech about how Russia should get out of Georgia And is sending condoleezza rice there along with aide. Why? Why is the US involved in other country's issues? Yes its horrible that Georgia is under attack, but we the US have problems of our own. I do understand we have US citizens in Georgia, we should get them out and that's all we do. Any Options or comments.

  1. Were getting in russia's business for many reasons, one being that Georgia was helping us in the Iraq war, Georgia is a democracy, and Russia is trying to destroy that. Bush being mr. USA thinks we have to defend any democratic country, so Bush being the smart guy he is now making threats to Russia, very stupid in my opinon, because our forces are stretched to thin, and we really cant help them, but Bush is trying to get Georgia into NATO, which means that all of NATO would have to defend Georgia and thus bringing WAR against Russia, then Russia would ask Iran and China for help, bringing wwIII, so we should mind our own business and fix our problems, and let Europe deal with that problem, anybody agree?

  2. Georgia is an ally; Allies are under obligation to defend one another; now the US has to put up or shut up. The Russians are betting that we'll cut and run; we have to defend otherwise nobody will depend on us. Welcome to WWIII.

  3. I don't know why?

  4. You are absolutely correct.  We should stay out of this.  Our founders warned against foreign entanglements.

The problem is that we grew our government all out of proportion to the size needed to govern the U.S.

Our government went from the administrator of a citizen republic to a socialist nannyacracy to our current efforts to be the global hegemony.

We aren't going to change.  If you gathered up all the people who actually oppose our foreign wars and aren't already in the Libertarian party, you could hold that meeting at a Dennys.

  5. Georgia is a staunch supporter and ally of the US and democracy in general.. hence the Russian attack..  if France, Britain, or Germany were attacked.. you wouldn't be saying this would you?    and btw, we live in an age of ever-growing globalization..  what affects our neighbors, especially our closest allies, could affect you..  and look no further than the major oil/gas pipelines running from Georgia that supply roughly 70% of Europe's energy needs..  so you see, there's underlying issues involving situations such as these.. you can't turn a blind eye all the time..

no, they're not a member of the UN.. but, Georgia is a staunch supporter of Democracy, of the US, and wants to join NATO... hence one of the reasons for the Russian aggression..   if you're an ally, you're an ally.. shouldn't matter if they're a miniscule country like Georgia.. or a large country like France..

  6. Isn't this the opportunity Bush has been hoping for?  Something to distract attention from the Iraq war, and give him the supposed stature of being a "war president"?

I don't understand how you can be all for McCain, because this is just the tip of the iceberg if he gets elected.

  7. US established the current president of Georgia (former US lawyer) during the revolution sponsored by US. The oil pipeline was built.

US did all kind of supports because they need to control the pipe.

Now after the genocide Georgia made, it can damage the georgian president and lead to anarchy, which can lead to the problems with oil supplies.

You can treat georgian president as US representative. And US is not ready to change him now.

    This explains US behaviour.

  8. I agree, and I suspect Bush and Mc cain don't understand the history of the situation, nor do they care to know.  They're just salivating over the idea of more war.

  9. because if i would come into your house with a loaded gun, and say that this part of your house is now MINE you would want cops to do something about it and even though US still have problems they would go and help your sorry *** so be thankful that you aren't in Georgia

  10. If we can't be in Russia's business then you can't be in our business.  You can't have it both ways liberal.

  11. Because the US in one of the only countries that will get involved. People in Georgia were getting killed, the US has power and presence it was only human to get involved as people in Georgia needed help/

  12. Sending countries aid is not an act of war nor is having a state representative visit another country even during a time of war.

  13. Why are we in alot of places I don't think we should be. G.W. will tell you we are the leaders of the free world, and as such we should stick our nose in everybodys bussiness that don't believe like us.That one of the reasons we are in iraq. The other is OIL. Mabe you should rethink your affillation and join us liberal democrats. We like to stay at home, mind our bussiness, and tax republicians.

  14. It's called Foreign Policy.  The US isn't involved however!  Pres. Bush is only addressing the situation, not necessary participating in this stunt.  Plus,  If the US ignored the factor, we would get shunned by the very people who shuns us for being involved!  It's called politics on that part.  I am an American Marine and I would really care less about Russian and Georgia.  But I have an opinion, Russian is being ignorant and will be facing the UN pretty soon!
