Foe example, In chicago, there is a lot of wind. North Dakota, South Dakora, Montana, Minnesota, and all the states located in the north are very windy. They can use Power-generating windmill turbines to generate energy. Why not invest money and be independent?

  1. Wind turbines are extremely expensive to put up and are considered eye pollution.  There are a lot of wind farms currently being built, but residents are hesitant to allow too many because they require taking farmland out of service and building bulky transmission lines to the big cities that require way too much energy.  Rural citizens don't want to live sandwiched between 200 foot tall towers.
