Why USA has only 2 major political parties?

Most democratic countries have several to choose from.

Are they more democratic than USA?

it actually has several....green, libertarian, independent, etc

by popular demand....those are the two that usually hold power....

Well first off Cabot

America is not a democracy

It was never intended to be

The framers considered and rejected the notion as divisive and unfair

Secondly

There are many many parties in America but only two with any clout

The reason for that is simple

Fear

We have always been told that this is the most crucial time in America and to vote third party would be helping the one you feel is the greater of the two evils to win

If you want to truly vote for America vote Libertarian

You will not get to brag about picking a winner but you will be helping to give credibility to a third party and helping to establish a true three party system that this country desperately needs

Bankers, Big Pharma, Big Oil and the Military Industrial Complex have a lot of money to invest in politicians, but it keeps profits up if they don't have to raise funds for more than two parties.  

Big Media keeps the number of candidates down by only mentioning a few names and controlling the debates.  Things might get out of hand if there were too many parties.  

When polled, people don't pick a name they never heard of, so it looks like the media is just following the polls, when actually the reverse is true.

Money and the USA is full of fools who demand  nothing as they live in abject fear 24 hr 7 days a week.  All the Indians are not dead and the Africans still hold a serious grudge from working for free as slaves for centuries.
