I'm using Window xp sp3, and I have just download virtualbox and ubuntu desktop edition from its official site. When I tried to install ubuntu, the boot screen will suddenly stopped halfway.

Could anyone tell me what's the problem with it?

  1. How much RAM did you dedicate to it? Ubuntu will need about 512 MB to boot from the LiveCD. If you have the right amount, it may be hanging on the hardware initialization. Try disabling the network adapter in VirtualBox, and see if the boot continues normally.
