  1. Basically, Che was executed for his role in the Bolivia insurrection.  I'm sure his allegiance with Fidel Castro was also part of the reason he was killed.

  2. A. Che was not Cuban. He was Argentinian. South America was no strange place to him.

    B. Che tried to incite revolutions in various countries. He wa a harsh and authoritarian leader, in Cuba in charge of passing final judgment on captured opponents.  He was leading a band of revolutionaries in Bolivia when he was caught and killed, suffering the same fate he had delivered to many of his opponents.

  3. He was trying to start a revolution in Bolivia.  He had fallen out of favor with Castro as economic minister (Che was too idealistic for him), so returned to south America (he was Argentinian).

The end was pretty near for him in Bolivia anyway, as he was down to a couple of dozen supporters, failed to gather support, and besides....was asthmatic, and lost in the jungle for days without his medication.
