If the UFC is the top of the food chain in MMA, (althought that faber/pulver fight was great), why does WEC get the network television, and UFC get PPV. Is PPV that much more profitable than network tv? and i'm not counting the fight nights on spike or the utimate fighter.

  1. PPV is more lucrative for the company, but remember, they do air the Ultimate Fight Nights, Ultimate Fighter Finales, and usually one big fight card on Spike.

WEC is on VS network because its not quite as well known yet.  It is the major league for Featherweight and Bantamweight, but it is more of a development league for the higher weight classes.

  2. They get about a million views on PPV per UFC event. So they're bringing in about 40 million dollars a UFC event. It's more profitable. They also have a contract with Spike too, so some fights are PPV some Spike.

  3. it shouldn't be on tv at all, its a horrible ?"sport"?  i think not its just people beating each other up, just cause they have nothing better to do.....and the people watching just wish they could,,,maybe cause they are weak and get pushed around...there is no "sport" in this.  Its like watching dogs fight, its just wrong!!!!
