I have a Sony DCR-HC62 Handycam that works when I plug it in with the USB in my PC without installing drivers or any software. I then plug it into my Mac ibook G4 and nothing. What should I do to make it work? if it can't work, then tell me how I could get the video on my mac so I could EDIT IT WITH iMOVIE.

  1. You should at least be able to copy the video data files from the camcorder to the Mac - but the Mac won't play or edit them in iMovieHD directly... You need to convert that highly compressed MPEG2 video using StreamClip into something more useful:

You may also find this area at Apple.com discussions useful:

  2. Well, I'm not sure if you'll be able to get it to work on Mac: http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stor...

you can try searching for drivers. What i would do is use a Data DVD to move the files around if not try a External Hard Drive. Afterthought would be to network them together, but that could be tricky.
