Why Was Dale Jr. In The 2007 Bud Shootout If He Never Won A Pole In 2006?

I looked at his stats and apparently he never won a pole in the 2006 season, yet he was in the 2007 Bud Shootout. Was it a fan vote thing for something?

  15. He won the Bud Shootout one year and the rules allow former winners of the Bud Shootout to be automatically qualified for each race...don't know if the rule is still in effect or not. But I believe that's how he got in.
