I just watched it and it was nothing like the Madeline Mccann's case!

What did you think of the film. It wasn't like I'd thought it be.

  2. it was like the McCann case in that it was about a child disappearance, one who looked alarming like Madeleine, did you not think? Possibly also the issue of neglect was close to questions some people were raising about Kate and Gerry. But really it did seem a bit excessive to be put on hold for so long and it wasn't a particularly big film, nor was that story by any means the only story within the film.

It was different to what I thought it would be too, much grittier and far more gripping in the end then the usual Hollywood happy ending tale. Lot's of twists and turns and left with a question of morals at the end; a very good start by Affleck.

  3. I think at the time it was due for release emotions were running extremely high over the Madeline McCann case and the fact that the girl in the film looks very like Madeline would have upset some people.  At the end of the day - it was about a young girl who went missing.  For some people that is similarity enough.  Good film though - I enjoyed it.

  4. Because the powers that be felt it mirrored the McCanns case too closely.
