Why Won't my tv turn on?

Question

My television set won't turn on after the thunder/lighning storm. I have opened it up but I dont know what quite to look for. Could anybody help me. It is not an HD set so I do not mind taking a risk

Check your circuit breakers, fuses, and believe it or not make sure it's plugged in (smile).
