  1. I am not facing my laptop right now but I'll try to remember. First connect your S-video cable to the corresponding S-video IN/OUT in your TV and your laptop. Now set your TV to receive or display S-Video connection.. of course nothing will happen, This time, right click the desktop of your laptop, scroll down to "Properties", Click "Settings" (I'm not sure if its in the Advance Settings) you should see two monitors there, one is your default laptop monitor and the other is the TV. Click the TV monitor, and click "Extend my desktop or display to this monitor" thats what I remember. You can adjust resolution later whats best for your TV.

  2. You should look into your user manual to see if there are any instructions; some laptops require you to press the Fn key plus another one (Fn+F7, for instance) in order for your laptop to 'recognize' the TV.  Sometimes you need to do it in the Display Settings Configuration...

The easiest way (but it doesn't work with all laptops) is to connect your TV to the laptop BEFORE you turn the laptop on... when you turn it on it will 'see' the TV plugged in and recognize it.

    Hope it helps...

  3. To what spook said, I would add that the best resolution you can get with S-video is 480i  (320x240) so adjust your video resolution.
