  1. Well, I guess because congress says I have to.

  2. well, i would be more open to what rep. poe had to say if i weren't so distracted by the title of another youtube video called "Rep. Ted Poe Quotes Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard on House Floor"

  3. Do you know that these bulbs that congress is going to force us to use are only made in CHINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  OH YES IT IS TRUE..............The was a congressional hearing about it.......

  4. Because people on the Internet tell me I shouldn't!!!

    I like being naughty.

  5. You'll be happy to know that at least the bulbs can be effectively recycled, now, thanks to some new programs.  They are described in this helpful article from eHow:

    http://www.ehow.com/how_2359523_compact-...

    Recycle CFL Light Bulbs

  6. IT SAVES YOU MONEYYY!!

  7. WHAT!..are you insinuating China is not the country to support and emulate????....how dare you. A country with such a fine human rights record that any liberal would be proud of.....shame on you!!  Actually, you're right....I use regular bulbs, I have enough in the basement to last me til the next two presidents retire, and can still get'em at Lowes and I'm stocking up every day..and I don't apologize one little bit..I didn't almost get my butt shot off in a war to have someone tell me what kind of bulb I can use!

  8. Because the hype on the mercury in the bulbs is just another scare tactic to keep the populace afraid and easier to control.

The amount of mercury in 1 CFL is FAR LESS than in a battery. How many batteries have you thrown in the garbage? How many batteries do you use in your home, including toys, shoes, Ipods, cordless shavers, cordless drills, cordless phones? How many of these have made it to the landfill?

Every battery contains some form of heavy metal, like mercury, cadmium, lithium, nickle, alkaline, the list goes on. There is more carcinogenic materials in one watch battery, than there is in one CFL.

I have switched all my bulbs over to CFL's in the last 2 years. I haven't had one burn out yet. And there are recycling centers being set up all over. So, what's the big deal? If you are too lazy to take the burned out bulbs to the recycling center, you ARE the problem, and NOT the solution.
