  1. Why on earth not?

  2. He probably has a little more money then people her age, which she would see as providing security.

  3. she loves that man and she can.

  4. Cause she can

  5. Are you talking about in a Western country or in an Asian or Middle Eastern country? There would be different reasons for these.

In a Western Society in may be because of "Romantic love" where they are happy in each other's companionship and have similar interests and attitudes. In cases like that the age barrier is of no consequence.

Also, in a Western society, some more older people are looking for companionship (and companionship love is more enduring than romantic love-- which usually only lasts about 5-8 years), and if they like each other and have similar interests and attitudes, again the age difference does not matter.

In an Asian or Middle Eastern society where the majority of marriages (about 80-95% depending on country) are "arranged marriages" where the parents of the  couple look for the appropriate partner for their child, the gap can vary between 3 years to 30 years between the couple. In most Asian countries it would usually be between 3 and 15 years although some may go to 18 years. In India, Sri Lanka and the rest of the Indian sub-continent plus the Middle East the gap would be anything from 4-40 years.

In arranged marriages the couple do everything they can to make the marriage work, partially because they wish to please their parents and their family and partially to maintain the good reputation of their families. They realize that they may not love each other on the day of the marriage, but with a little time they will learn to love each other, not romantically (although they often do grow to romantically love each other, but this romantic love is always temporary), but companionship love and mutual respect. This is the enduring love that leads to long happy marriages.

  6. They love each other?

  7. money

  8. It can be all or one the reasons you mentioned but don't forget Love, when you love a person, age means nothing.

  9. He probably can string words together that form a coherent sentence.

  10. My girlfriend is 25 years younger than me.

She 'chose' me and without anyone asking anyone about anything, she gave up her teaching job and crossed the great water to be near to me.

She knows my Financial ~ Social ~ Martial ~ Health positions, and knew them 'before' she made her decision and her move.

And, why do you think she did what she did?

    Sash.

PS:  He father is still alive and she loves him dearly (as a daughter) - there was / is no abuse etc.

  11. It could be for any reasons..but why should age matter if the woman loves the man?

  12. I'd say because the old guy is rich.

    :]

  13. she is probably a gold digger (Flaver Flav!!!)

  14. I don't think true love has age limits...

My parents are eighteen years apart and have been married for almost 30 years. I don't think there is any specific reason why a woman might want to marry a man that much older than her. I think sometimes it's hard for people who have never been in love [or even those who have] to understand that if you care enough about someone it really doesn't matter if they are 50 years older or if they are unattractive to most people or even if you love someone of the same s*x. The thing is love is not about any of those things it's how your feel about the other person.
