Why Zebra crossing so called when no Zebra is crossing the road ?

  1. Because of the colouration.

    The ones that I've never understood are the pelican and toucan crossings, which don't appear to have any resemblance at all to pelicans or toucans.


  2. its there because zebras might be crossing the road soon so they put it up to show you they cross the road there so you will be alert because they just might blast across the road

  3. Because of the way that they are painted, they resemble zebras.

  4. a zebra is reported to be seen crossing roads. And at the very same spot that the wild zebra crosses road, a zebra crossing is created. And sooner or later it is believed that an actual zebra WILL cross the zebra crossing (in late nights or early mornings).

  6. same as deer crossing sign. they have been using that area to cross at times,so be on the look out. Same as our traffic lights,etc.
