Why a Jvc Camcorder works only with the AC charger?

t will not charge the battery. replacing battery didnt work.I then replaced the AC charger with the same results. any ideas?

  1. For my JVC camcorder, the battery is recharged only when connected to the AC adapter and the camcorder is turned OFF...in other words, when the camcorder is ON while connected to the AC adapter, the battery is not recharged.

    This doesn't make sense to me, but that's how JVC designed their camcorders.
