  1. There are 3 reasons why a circuit breaker trips:

    1. Over current past the circuit breaker rating.

    2. Poor or defective electrical connection from your junction box to the washer.

    3. Defective or worn circuit breaker.

    Try running a heavy duty extension cord from your washer to a different outlet that uses a different circuit breaker.


  2. If the circuit breaker doesn't trip the overload can cause a fire. It was pulling too much power off of the circuit.  It's a minor annoyance.
