  1. That's the way the mop flops . It's not up to them exactly .

  2. Firstly the swedes chose their royal family (last century) Kind They are a left over of the Bonaparte times.

Also the Swedish royal family does not hold a political office and as such cannot be aligned to a political party They are above that. They are essentially the personification of the country.A living crest. People of all political colours can rally behind a royal house, not a president.

They are rolled out as sort of the advertising board etc.  They are very understated in their royalty.

Also the alternative a president is not that attractive For one they change often, the political structure would be different.

A president does not unite, they divide. A royal house unites

  3. In democracy every one is revolving around some one who is also revolving and dependent upon election. Royalty acts as a reference point which is fixed.

Left like royalty as swedish royalty is welfare oriented and not acquisitve oriented like in Nepal.

Marx criticised royalty in its times for its action and not its existance

  4. its the same in every monarchy. Royals control public opinion and exercise that control thru the power to ostracize critics and to keep that power, they exercise it ruthlessly. It takes an armed rebellion in most cases to get rid of them.

  5. Most Swedes hate their royal family. It is usually the right-oriented people who support the tradition of having a royal family.

  6. Its no different than say supporting your president or country leader. They are nothing but country figureheads.

  7. Perhaps they have a more liberal royal family. They seem to be.
