  1. Actually, some particles can: photons travel at the speed of light (they ARE light) all the time.  But no particle with a non-zero rest mass can go that fast, as the mass would become infinite.

    Photons do. Photons don't have a mass but they have momentum.

    E=pc

    where p is the momentum and c is the speed of light.

    I learned this in Modern Physics.
