I live by this road and its on a highway and its four lanes going and theres two lanes that merge out onto the four lanes well, some people just go and dont stop, and some people just stop at the white line even if there is no one coming and its dead over there, most of the times there is few cars, but about 3:00PM (when alot of the people around this area get out of work and are coming home) its crazy! but I guess my Question is, Why a yield sign over in this area i desribed; why cant it just be a stop sign?

  1. Get behind a fully loaded big truck at that ramp and let him stop when he doesn't have to. You won't be asking anymore. You'll be too busy cussing the slow SOB in front of you.

  2. same here. Always wondered why something like that had no stop sign where it should. If there was a stop sign you would be home 10-15 minutes later and it would cause much more traffic! Especially with the slow drivers here who sleep at the green light!

  3. Yield signs save gas. Why stop if there is no one to yield to?

  4. The yield is just a way to make it clear who has the right of way when traffic is merging.  It actually makes the traffic worse if one of the high flow traffic has to stopp.

    Good Luck...

  5. yield to the lane you're gonna merge to.

  6. Even though a yield sign warns people who have the right of way I do see your point and a stop sign would serve a better purpose for this situation, leave it up to the department of highways and transportation to not look at the big picture……….
